Despite the small size of the park, it is a habitat for common animals including giraffe, Cape buffalo, zebra, warthog, the black-and-white Colobus monkey, the blue monkey, flamingo, elephant, bushbuck and many other African animals. Birdlife in the forest is prolific, with many forest species more easily seen here than elsewhere on the tourist route - Narina trogon and bar-tailed trogon are both possible highlights for visiting birders, whilst the range of starling species provide somewhat less gaudy interest. Get a chance to be up close with nature’s beauty with loving sounds of birds, sight of animals such as zebras and giraffes and the beautiful landscape of the park. Taking picnic lunches with you, your drive today will lead you to a descend down the crater floor for a full exploration of what the crater has to offer by tracking game with your guide. The crater is 610m deep and 260km² wide, making it the largest Caldera in the world. The crater contains all the big five animals (lions, elephants, rhinos, leopard and buffaloes), hippos, cheetah, antelopes and spotted hyena. After the excitements of the day you will drive to Tarangire.

There is Silale swamp that attracts 550 varieties of birds, the most breeding species you'll see in one habitat anywhere in the world! The park is also home of tree climbing pythons, as well as lions and leopards. Later drive back to Arusha.
