MT. KILIMANJARO OVERVIEW
Mountain Kilimanjaro is the highest free standing mountain on the planet and the highest Mountain in Africa rising up to 5895M , with its three Volcanic cones Kibo, Mawenzi and Shira it’s a dormant volcanic in Tanzania. Kilimanjaro lies just 205miles from the equator. The word Kilimanjaro comes from a Swahili and Chagga words “Kilima”(mountain) and the Chagga word “Njaro” (whiteness). Another possibility is that Kilimanjaro is the European pronunciation of Kichaga phrase meaning “we failed to climb it ), Mount Kilimanjaro was first climbed in 1889, Now approximately more than 30000 people climb Kilimanjaro every year.
